This movie was awful. At least it was better than War, although that ain't saying much. There was no reason for the JL to even be in this movie as everything they did was pointless or very un-heroic. Hell, Batman abandoned Gotham without even catching Scarecrow. Also, I don't like how they turned the Trench into mindless goons, especially when they kept multiplying just to amp up the violence factor. And then you have scenes where the military is suddenly all prepared and ready to fight the Atlantians. At first I thought they were seriously going to start shooting at the wave. As a whole this movie was cleary supposed to be a stand alone Aquaman movie that was then forced to have the JL involved just because heaven forbid we have a movie without Batman or Superman in it.
