Default 'Lucy' - High-Def Digest Review

Shannon has reviewed 'Lucy'. He was really disappointed in this one. He says it's just a big, loud, dumb movie that you can skip. Here's why...

Haven't seen it yet, but sounds like it could have been much more than it ended up being. Still who doesn't enjoy a rollercoaster ride while they're on it?

Have to say I disagree 110% with Shannon on this one. Thought this was one of the most underrated movies of the year. It's premise is wildly ridiculous, but that's what makes it so much fun. Like if 'Tree of Life' and 'Transcendence' had a weird love child with anxiety issues.

I pre-ordered this back in August. I'll give it a chance, with low expectations.

I agree with Shannon's thoughts on this movie. I found myself completely bored after the first 20 minutes, and not even Morgan Freeman could save it for me.

Wow! Shannon totally missed the mark on this one. I don't think he actually understood what this film was trying to be, or what it was trying to accomplish. It never takes itself seriously. Everything is tongue-in-cheek. This film never makes any attempt at profundity. It was never trying to be a deep study of the cerebral capabilities of humans. I completely disagree with this review. This was one of the funnest times at the movies, in all of 2014.

Totally agree, both my wife and I really enjoyed this one and its one I'll gladly add to my collection, it was another great Luc Besson action crazy fest, more like a streamlined straight to the point Fifth Element (one of my all time favs)

But I also love how the movie got a 3 star rating yet at the final paragraph it says to just "skip it" That isnt a three star movie if you ask me, a "skip it" should be a 1 or 2 star max

That's because the Video and Audio scores are averaged in evenly with the movie and extras score. Since the A/V is outstanding, that's why everything averaged to a "3". That's how we do things here re: Overall Score.

I gave the movie itself 1 1/2 stars.

World War Z all over again? By that, it seems we already have an equal split, between those who have seen it already.

Yep sorry, my bad, read the star rating and the movie text at the same time and my vision put them together

So nevermind what I said there
