Default 'Hercules (2014)' - High-Def Digest Review

E has reviewed 'Hercules (2014)'. Starring Dwayne Johnson and directed by Brett Ratner, this sword-and-sandal fantasy flick is decently entertaining. The Blu-ray features an excellent, near-reference audio and video presentation. Worth a rental for the curious.

I thought it was fairly alright myself. It'll be forgotten in a year, but it does what a summer blockbuster is supposed to do. It's entertaining.

I have my fingers crossed that this is a title available to rent in 3D via VuDu. I have a credit on my account, and would enjoy watching this one this weekend.

Why cant extended cut actually mean extended cut, 3 minutes isnt extended and changes absolutely nothing. Extended cut of The Hobbit is an extended cut, 25 minutes of added footage. Damn marketing junk to get people to not pay attention and buy it.

Still need to check this out, this was always a wait to watch at home flick for me, and now its here, no way was I paying to see this in the theater

Good review. Have to agree. 2.5 stars is already generous. Forgotten in a year? I forgot about it the minute we left.

I thought this movie might have something different to deliver, but it was a completely unoriginal movie with elements of every other sword and sandals movie thrown in. Very forgettable. I actually prefer the Conan remake to this one, or hell, even Renny Harlin's Hercules lol.

The "lol" means that you DON'T prefer Harlin's Legend of Hercules, right?

That 3D blu-ray has dropped to $15, to $12, to $10, and several times I've
picked it up. Only to return it to the shelf. And felt good about it. Maybe
at $8, I'll give in. Maybe not.
