Default 'Open Grave' - High-Def Digest Review

Kevin Yeoman has reviewed 'Open Grave'. He says this film has a compelling premise, but it squanders it by continually reaching for a bigger, more expansive ones. The Blu-ray features very good picture and sound. This is a rental for the curious.

I came away completely satisfied. I found the characters to work just fine in the narrative of the story, I was scratching my head for most of the film and the ending worked, it wasnt amazing by any stretch and it wasnt something I was completely blown away by, I figured things out in a timely fashion and I liked how you took the journey with them from the get go. I love Copely as an actor, District 9, The A-Team, Elysium and now this. He's great to watch and easily carried the film.

This was a surprise to me, I really enjoyed it after reading some really positive reviews for it.

I was surprised by this review as well. While the movie isn't perfect, mainly pacing issues, but I was satisfied by the story and characters as well. Also, without spoiling anything, I felt it was an original twist on the zombie genre, though that is only part if it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film and I was really surprised by the review. While it wasn't perfect, it was well done and a good mystery. It actually reminded me of resident evil (more the game and not the movie) where we are seeing the aftermath of the horrible event and piecing it together which worked really well in a genre that already has sooo many entries.
