Default 'Stage Fright' - High-Def Digest Review

E has reviewed 'Stage Fright'. He says this is a surprisingly entertaining hybrid of musical comedy and slasher. The Blu-ray features great-looking video and slightly better audio. Recommended for genre fans.

I rented this on iTunes. Have to say..it definitely had some funny bits and some good horror bits. I liked it...it was a unique mix of musical and horror. A ''horrorsical''

The film had it's moments for sure. But, it still wasn't very good. It left me pretty disappointed. It had a great set-up, but the main problem was definitely with the script. The entire film felt like they were working from a first draft. The film had a good set up, but then for the next 35 minutes there's barely any "horror" or anything remotely "scary". Say you missed the first 5 minutes of the film and just started watching after that, you'd think that you were just watching some sort of low-grade comedy-musical. There were some serious pacing issues. And the killer was extremely easy to figure out. I think if this film had a slightly bigger budget and a better revised script, this would easily have been a hit.
