Default 'The Big Chill' - High-Def Digest Review

Gordon has reviewed the Criterion release of Lawrence Kasdan's 'The Big Chill'. He says the film still stands out due to the quality of the writing and acting. The Blu-ray offers good video; two strong audio tracks, and a few extras that offer insight into the film. Recommended.

My mom always loved this movie and I fell in love as a young adult. The wife and I had fond memories and bought it on DVD about 5 years ago. Really enjoyed it, but both of us commented on

...not sure why, but kind of ruined it for both of us.

GREAT soundtrack, though...still will always love this movie.

Good to see this old title being released on Blu-ray. Will be refreshing to have an ensemble movie without being overloaded with the special effects of today's movies.

Is any of the music in stereo? The first two songs by Marvin Gaye and Stones, are mono. I will continue the movie tomorrow.

From the review...

For the alternate 5.1 surround presentation, stereo music masters were used in tandem with elements from the 3-track dialogue, music, and effects stems.
