I like the looks of this set. Let's not assume things but it seems to be the norm with multiple movie sets, I would certainly presume that GB1 is the remastered version?

Must have the Bobby Brown video.

Per the press release both films have been remastered at 4K.

GB1 will be a completely new pressing. I assume it'll be a re-encode of the same 4K source used on the "Mastered in 4K (TM)" re-issue, but with new supplements and all the "legacy" bonus material from the first, "Gamma-Fucked (TM)" Blu-ray from 2009.

GB2 is first-time-on-BD. 4K master and all-new supplements (previous DVDs were barebones).

I just checked the official site and it looks like they will offer single disk, 2 disk digibook, and the Limited edition set.

I would so buy this for the new transfer of the first movie if I did not then have to own the second one.

Of course, it is going to be in a digibook, so I might anyway. Not going to go for the limited edition one as I don't need the Slimmer statue.

Been waiting for Ghostbusters 2, looks like I might have to pony up for that Slimer statue and limited digibook set. I have the original Bluray release of Ghostbusters so this should be worth the money easy to get both remastered with all new features

Very much looking forward to this!

For only $18.89 may as well pick it up. The digi-book.

I've already got the previous 4K re-master though.

I wonder if them saying that they are including all legacy suppliments means that they are including ALL legacy suppliments. They mention the audio interview on GB1 with Harold and the others, but it doesn't say if it is the MST3K commentary that was included on the original DVD or just the audio portion of it that was included on releases since. That was a really cool suppliment, and I am disappointed that no one else had done it, and that that feature has not been included on other releases.

Pretty much, they used the subtitle track to do this. All subtitles on DVDs are actually monochromatic bitmapped images that load up at a certain timestamp. So they pretty much filmed them in front of a screen, reduced it down to black siluettes, Output that at like 3 frames a second to a bitmap sequence, and encoded that on the disc. I am sure it was very time consuming, as someone would have had to go in and linked every single one of those images to a timestamp (unless someone wrote a script to do it automagically), but it sure was cool.
