Default 'Knights of Badassdom' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven has reviewed ''Knights of Badassdom''. He says the film's dream cast of geek friendly performers is fun to watch. Give it a rent.

I really enjoyed this quite a bit, although its really geared towards someone like me who loves Fantasy, Heavy Metal and just about the entire cast in various other projects. But after watching it a second time you can really see how badly it was edited together, laying some credence to it being taken away and slapped together by someone else. In turn this also makes the narrative kind of go all over the place, just watch the scene where Gwen and Joe take off to go back to the "parking lot", they just fight a bunch of "apes" during the day and then a bit of time later its pitch black and night time out. Its definitely got some issues in that department, but I love the cast and some of the lines I laugh at every time I hear them. This will be one I'll gladly pick up on Bluray regardless of what cut it actually is, hopefully supporting the film will get us the real one, if it exists.

Yeah I'm with the reviewer 100%, I really wanted to like this, but it was just done in such a crappy way. The plot had tons of potential, I could think of dozens of more funny scenarios that could have taken place. Just some of the jokes fell flat, the editing was bad. Definitely needed more scenes with Tyrion tripping balls on shrooms.

I'm still holding out hope for the director's cut to be released. If anyone isn't aware the studio decided to screw with this movie, so what was released is not the same film the director set out to make. Hopefully a director's cut will be released and be more what we expected and less crappy.

Sorry to hear it didn't turn out that great. I've been waiting for this to release on BD. Been glancing at it over the last year or two, mostly because I have a soft spot for Summer Glau.
