Default 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven has reviewed 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues'. He says the movie is pretty damn funny. This Blu-ray features great video and audio presentations, three different cuts of the movie, several behind-the-scenes featurettes, and over 90 minutes of alternate material. This is absolutely packed with entertaining supplements. Recommended.

Nice review, Steven. You've convinced me to get it. Steelbook edition for me!

So is the only way to get the steelbook is to re-buy Anchorman or can you get one with just Anchorman 2?

update: Just picked up the steelbook over at Walmart. Now they've got 1 left at the local store. The regular case version is same price as Amazon, and in stock, unlike Amazon.
The steelbook includes 2 Blu-ray disks for Anchorman, so if you've got the 1 disk version already (like me) you get another disk with another version.
There are 2 Blu-ray disks included for Anchorman 2. No DVDs.

Picked this up last night and watched it.
Big fan of the original.

That being said, Can't say I really enjoyed this one. The central idea was solid but the jokes just fell flat and there were way too many recycled jokes/situations to the original. I honestly didn't laugh once while watching it. I think a few times I may have smiled but I was pretty let down by this movie overall.

I felt the same way the 1st time I watched The Hangover. Watched it again a few months later and it had me rolling

I like the 1st Hangover but the 2nd and 3rd are just terrible. I do appreciate that the 3rd movie tried to do something a little different than the 1st two but it just felt unneeded.

The funny thing about the Hangover III is that they tried something different, but the ending is what the movie should've been about from the get go.

My girlfriend picked this up for me today. Apparently my local Walmart (here in Canada) had quite a few sitting on the shelves still. $27.97. Not a bad deal when you factor in that Anchorman: The Rich Mahogany Edition by itself is $17.99 right now on amazon.ca.

I thought Part II was terrible in theaters but it's gotten a bit of a second wind for me on cable TV. I don't think it's that bad, though a blatant carbon copy of the original right down to music choices, shot selection, and characters. Having said that, I kinda enjoy some of the darker comedic elements and some of the random bits that are present in the movie (namely Zack Galifinakis' obsession with Bradley Cooper). III is just bad. An alright idea, but nobody including the leads + Todd Phillips have their heart in it. They're completely going through the motions.

Play this movie late at night and you'll think of Richard Branson.
