Since this is the season in which DS9 started airing (and crossing over with TNG), I'm hoping like crazy that they took all this extra time on season 6 to start work on season 1 of DS9.

My two favorite single episodes from this season - Realm of Fear and Relics. Honorable Mentions - The Chase & Frame of Mind.
Every so often I revisit Cause & Effect from Season 5 and Relics from Season 6 in a single setting.

All excellent episodes. I LOVED The Chase. Frame of Mind was a really good one. Man Season 6 was good.

Ron Moore apparently considers season six to be TNG's best too. It has a lot of excellent episodes, no doubt. It was right after Roddenberry died too, so maybe that freed the writers up somewhat. "Ship in a Bottle" is fun (and rather similar to Inception, and "Frame of Mind" kind of is too), "Tapestry" is a terrific character piece, "Starship Mine" is a fun action episode, "Chain of Command" is a powerhouse, and "Relics" is a great nostalgia trip. Lots of good showcases for Stewart too, come to think of it. Plus, "Birthright" has some DS9 stock footage, which might be a look at what's to come.

Yah after I looked over all the episodes it hit me how good Season 6 was. I totally forgot.

Which episode and season was the one with Picard fights his brother in the mud in the France???? Great episode with Stewart LOL
