I didn't care much for The Life Aquatic when I first saw it, but Wes Anderson has grown on me in leaps and bounds. I look forward to rewatching it, though I'm cautious about a Criterion purchase...in case this particular film hasn't grown on me.

Interesting how The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou isn't a "dual format" release.

Why does The Life Aquatic get released by Criterion when there are so many good movies out there they have not done?

Why hasn't Criterion done movies like Halloween, Escape from NY, The Thing, The Dark House, The Raven, The Black Cat, Mothra vs Godzilla, King Kong, The Shawshank Redemption, Alien, etc?

Default Red River - Cannot wait!

I am a big John Wayne Fan.

Of all of his movies, Red River is THE One movie that has will always be one of my favorites. This film made me a fan of Wayne when I first saw it (while feigning sick and skipping school) on AMC. It was then that I sought to watch every other Wayne movie.

This is a MUST BUY for me, and Criterion to boot makes it more worth it!

Red River all the way. One of Wayne's best. Now let's have She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.

I do like that some of these tiles get a Scream Factory treatment, but I'd like these given more attention as well. Perhaps, like Shout Factory, Criteron could have a horror label off shoot?

Or, better yet (MUCH MUCH better yet)...how about a Criterion John Carpenter Director's Collection. Maybe 8 of his best movies, $200 - $250, and I'd reserve it on Amazon right now.

EDIT: My suggestions for a Carpenter Criterion set: Assault on Precinct 13 / Halloween / The Fog / Escape from New York / The Thing / Big Trouble in Little China / Christine / They Live

Never seen Christine, but I do agree on the other 7. I'd put Prince of Darkness at the eighth one though (at least until I see Christine, then it could be).
