Default 'Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven has reviewed 'Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season.' He says this is an example of television at its absolute best. This Blu-ray features demo video and sound, and a comprehensive collection of interesting supplements. A true must own!

Yea, one of the things I really liked about this season - and what House of Cards does - is not worrying about hitting a climax with each episode. Instead, they build the world, the characters, and the conflicts. So, when the eventual climax does happen...it's stupendous.

Any game that features paid loot boxes should be rated AO.

"my review copy featured a packaging error that resulted in two copies of disc 2 and no copy of disc 1. Thankfully, HBO was very quick to correct the issue, but it's possible that some retail copies could have this mistake as well."

Steven, how did you contact HBO to remedy this? I hope this was just your screener
copy and not a retail issue, but what steps were in HBO's solution?

Should we open our copy right in the retail store?

I guess we'll know more next Tuesday.

Still my favorite show on TV, with Season 3 being the best so far. Can't wait to rewatch this before the new season starts

We got a replacement disc directly through our HBO PR contact. It looks like I was originally sent a full retail copy, so it's possible some stores might get shipments with similar issues, but we'll have to wait until Tuesday to find out. If this does turn out to be the case, I'm sure HBO will offer some type of replacement program.

Target's Exclusive content:
An Evening with Game of Thrones
2013 Emmy® panel with Game of Thrones cast and crew featuring Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), author of A Song of Ice and Fire book series George R.R. Martin, and creators/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

-----

I was leaning towards getting Target's exclusive edition, especially if the extra
disc is a Blu, not a standard DVD.

With the help of the Google machine, I learned that the Emmys streamed an
Evening with Game of Thrones, so you can find this content online pretty easily.
And since it was openly streamed, I don't feel that this is open theft. (I could
be wrong.)

Anyway, after seeing this 90 min panel, it was okay. I laughed out loud half a
dozen times during it. But I wouldn't watch it again. And the desire to get it
on an HD blu is admittedly ridiculous. The stream I saw was pretty high
quality, but there is no actual benefit to watch it in 1080p.

Thus, Best Buy's exclusive slip cover will likely earn my money.

But, anyone know more about Walmart's exclusive content? The Google
machine wasn't too helpful here.

I guess in the game of thrones, you win or get a concussion?

It's only a mini helmet. For a second, I considered watching the show with a helmet on.
