I felt this film was always very overrated. Good luck with the next dip guys!

It is quite funny, but I can think of at least 5 other Brooks movies I like more.

I own the Brooks collection though, so like Spaceballs, I see no reason to buy this.

I've always felt it was one of the best except for the dumb ending. I've owned this on Beta, LD (not quite sure I ever upgraded to the widescreen version), DVD (my first DVD purchase in cardboard snapcase), HD DVD (my first HD DVD purchase), and Blu-ray.

I've never liked any other Mel Brooks movies. Bought a few and quickly disposed of them. Life of Brian? Was that one? Ugh!

Life of Brian is Monty Python.

Blazing Saddles is hilarious, but I'm not sure it is worth a double dip. (I too own the Mel Brooks Collection). I find Young Frankenstein & High Anxiety equally Mel's best, both being funny, excellently made, and fantastic tributes to film.

After taking a look at the current one and noticing it has only Dolby Digital I'd buy this new one if it has loss-less sound. Warners wouldn't dare put out a Blu-ray in 2014 with lossy sound would they?

If the info on amazon is correct it has "dts" which would mean dts HD MA. amazon calls that "dts" usually.

Unloading the old one will be difficult. Looks like they go for $2 if you're lucky enough to find a buyer.

update: Got $3 store credit for it. I kept the Elite case of course, switching it out for a crappy one.

Definite double dip for me if they improve the A/V quality. This is tied with Spaceballs for the best Mel Brooks movie IMHO.

I wouldn't expect a new video transfer. The press release doesn't mention anything of the sort, and (usually) Warner discs that are remastered explicitly say so in PR materials. This should finally have lossless audio though.
