Worth the price for the opening tracking shot alone.

If you have an all-region Blu-ray player, the 'Masters of Cinema' release of 'The Third Man' appears to contain all the features of the U.S. version plus alternate aspect ratios of two of the three cuts, bringing the total number of "versions" to five. (It's also only 10 pounds on Amazon UK.)

Third Man?
This is Touch of Evil

As for the Masters' version of Touch of Evil
LINK

The description says "Three versions of Welles' film: the 1998 reconstruction (in both 1.37:1 and 1.85:1 aspect ratios) the 1958 preview version rediscovered in the mid-1970s (in 1.85:1) and the 1958 theatrical version (in both 1.37:1 and 1.85:1)."

I can't believe I did that! Thank you for catching my error. Yes, I meant 'Touch of Evil.' (I think I had film noir on the brain that day.) You are also correct about the actual number of versions; I put the word in quotes in my original post to signify that while they weren't actual cuts, the different aspect ratios could alter the experience.

I wonder which version will be the better one to own. I have a multi region player.

Has anyone bought this? How does it look?

It's currently a little over $20, I'm hoping the price comes down.

Well, I read online that it looks and sounds terrific. I'd definitely like to get this as well, but I'll wait until I can find it for around $10.

Yeah, I'll need to get this even though I own the MoC release, but will wait for a price drop.

I believe the Universal transfer is better because it's based on a recent 4K master.

I bought it but my setup is in shambles because of a burst pipe in the basement. Won't get to it until the end of the month.
