Default 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Edition' - High-Def Digest Review

David Krauss has reviewed 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Edition.' He whole-heartedly embraces this 3D rendering of the much-loved classic. Highly recommended. Here's why...

Default Great film, great review!

I pre-ordered this, just assuming it would be well done... It's sitting on my coffee table at home and I am very much looking forward to it now after reading your review.

Curses! Why couldn't this be a crappy 3D conversion, so I won't spend money on a
double dip?

I think I will go with WoO 3D, and not pick up the Little Mermaid 3D conversion.
Plus, the Best Buy has a Metalpak (yes, wished it was a Steelbook).

Did you notice that the 3D is rated PG and the 2D is rated G?

Yes, apparently the rating board felt the film is "scarier" in 3D than 2D, so might upset small children more. Kinda silly, if you ask me.

This is the first I'm hearing of this. Best Buy's web site doesn't have any listings for a metal case or BBY exclusive of any sort.

I saw the film in IMAX 3D last week and was absolutely shocked as to how it came off in 3D. This will be my next purchase (3D works surprisingly well on my 55 inch Sony HX-850) and pairing it with my region free 3D Blu-ray is a nice combination. What shocked me is the fact that when looking at the film the way it was presented, you could actually feel like you were looking into something.. Seems that WB actually took the time to do the film properly at least in theaters I'm just hoping that it works as well as it did at home as it did in theaters.

My local store only had 2 copies of the Metalpak, so it might be pretty
limited. Here's the SKU#1770142.

When you search bestbuy.com, there are 2 listings for the 3D blu. The
online description does not say it's the exclusive metal case, but that's
the right SKU#. The Sunday ad does list it as exclusive collectible case.
