The only way I'll buy this is if I don't get to see it on tv. If I do, I'll just wait for it to be in the eventual Season 8 box set like I just did with S7.

It was indeed amazing (made up for S7's suckiness), but like I said before, I'll just wait for it to be released in Season 8. In fact, I still haven't picked up S7 because I plan to just buy the big box set when I have the money and when it goes on sale for $150ish.

Anyone know if it has the Strax popcorn announcement in it potentially as an easter egg?

Season 7 or Season 8? The story wraps up Matt Smith's tenure, brings back Billy Piper and David Tennant and pays homage in several ways to Doctor Who's 50 years. The new Doctor isn't part of the proceedings and Clara is also still present. Those elements to me place this program at the end of Season 7. The Christmas Special will be the start of Season 8.
