E. has reviewed 'A Turtle's Tale 2: Sammy's Escape from Paradise.' He says this animated family sequel isn't too bad, and actually sports some of the best 3D on the market. Recommended.

Ordered this last week and should be here tomorrow. I still have to pick up part one. Been holding out hoping that it would get a U.S. release, but it doesn't look like it will.

I watched this last weekend. COULD NOT AGREE WITH THE REVIEW MORE!!!! The 3D in this is reference 3D at it's finest. Beats the fins off most 3D blus out there...including anything done by Disney/Pixar (regarding the 3D).
Has to be in the top 4 of the BEST 3D presentations I have seen yet on 3D Blu. For an animated 3D Blu, I have to say it's in the top 2 (leaning more towards THE BEST). And under $20 at Amazon....its a WIN WIN, NO BRAINER, MUST OWN. |

How was the 3d vs the first film in your opinion? |

Prof E,
It seems like a huge ordeal to get Turtle's Tale 1 on 3D, how well does TT2 stand alone on it's own? TT2 on 3D seems to priced fairly, but I'm afraid if I take that step I'm going to end up re-racking my home theater to make room for 3D region-free blu-ray player... another shelf system to hold it all... another new receiver to accommodate more HDMI inputs... another wife to put up with me... Does anyone own TT2 and goes on with life without the need to get TT1? |

TT2 picks up years later after TT1, but I think they could be watched separately. At the start, just remember that Sammy and Ray have a history and are long-time friends. After that, the sequel can be enjoyed, especially for the little ones, as a standalone movie.

Quite sad: Ben Stassen is a Belgian chap, but no one over here has ever heard of him (save for nerds like me). He seems to work 'in the shadows', outside of the media's attention.
Glad to hear he made a reference 3D movie! |
