Yawn. Same ol' pig, new lipstick. Wish they'd do a complete remaster and include the director's cuts.

Yup, I agree Jabba.... I have purposely avoided them because of that. I may end up having to pick up the individual release of WoK, but for 1 and 6 especially I want those director cuts. Then like you said.. remaster.

There were director's cuts of 1 & 2 but as far as I know there were never DCs (extra scenes, reworked scenes) of 3, 4 & 5). Six had a small change to add one scene revealing Reen Auberjonois in Klingon disguise. I can't see waiting for Dcs in the case of Star Trek makes all that much sense. The only one where it does make a difference is no. 1 which Bob Wise revised to correct a number of flaws in the original. Otherwise the differences were very minor.

Having said that it seems that Paramount never gives up on milking Trek for all it's worth. Does anyone out there in Trekland have a complete list of all the different releases of the movies that Paramount has created? It must be some kind of record.

Haha, I'd love to see such a list. For other movies/franchises too. Stephen Sommers' The Mummy (Universal) must have had 7 DVD releases, I think. Literally! Not even counting HD DVD or Blu-ray.

Probably on Wiki somewhere.
I was looking (and found) a complete list of Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh and TMNT Original Series releases so I am sure they'll have a complete Trek list as well. If James Cameron was in charge of Trek there would be 12 times more than you see.

No new transfers, no sell. I got all 11 movies (soon to be 12) already on Blu. Yeah, the transfers suck, but they are still better than the DVD releases. (Actually, a few of the movies sucked too, but different topic).

It would have been nice to have all the movies in one boxed set - I am surprised it took them so long to come out with this. Oh well, like I said, I already own the movies on blu, so if there is no new transfer, then its a non-sale for me

Not for me. Frankly aside from Star Trek The Motion Picture which got a real upgrade in its director's cut, I'm not really sure that I would buy any of the films again in 1080P. It's just not worth it for me.
