Luke has reviewed 'Dead Man Down.' This is one of his favorite films of the the year so far. He whole-heartedly recommends the Blu-ray. Here's why...

Luke, couldn't agree with you more! I so wanted to see this in the theater because I'm a huge fan of Rapace and the "Dragon Tattoo" trilogy. And also think Farrell is one of our better younger actors. But the damn thing came and went from the theaters so fast, it was gone in two weeks. A friend found a really poor copy of it online and I watched it because I couldn't wait for the DVD, and I thought it was fantastic. Like you said, I too feel that both Rapace and Farrell turned in brilliant performances. I just couldn't believe the movie got tepid reviews from the critics after seeing it. A huge head scratcher. Yes, it is one of the year's best IMO. And I'll be buying it on BD for sure! Great review. Hope more people see this eventually. And Rapace? Please please work with Niels Arden Oplev again!

Wow. May have to give this some more thought. May pick it up next week along with Evil Dead.

I saw this film in a theatre before it disappeared. Liked it and also could not understand why it came and went so quickly.

I will tell you guys why it went and came so quickly.

Where the hell was the marketing for this? I didn't even hear about it!

I saw zero advertising for it.

Probably didn't even have enough time for word of mouth to get around either.

Looking forward to seeing this.

All the ads were on during wrestling programs.

The theatrical trailer showed Rapace throughout. The TV ads the weeks before it was released didn't show Rapace in them once. I mean, she's one of the two major characters. Did you guys notice that?

I'm glad to see that there's a lot more love out there for Dead Man Down.

And please don't be distracted by the WWE name slapped on it. A few of the henchmen are obvious wrestlers, but that's the extend of it. There aren't any body slams or chairs broken over backs. I'm certain that WWE only produced it to get a few of their guys on the big screen.
