Default 'Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End" -- pre-release buzz

Disney has confirmed that the third 'Pirates' adventure will hit Blu-ray on December 4:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/pira...worldsend.html

It's another huge two-disc set, with tons of featurettes, plus two BD-Java exclusives. It will also enjoy a PCM 5.1 surround track (48kHz/24-bit).

Should be another strong seller this holiday for Blu-ray!

The full press release said that it was going to have an AVC encode, in case you want to include that on your info page.

Quote:
Panasonic also handled the film's AVC video compression (Advanced Video Coding; a digital video codec standard that is noted for achieving very high data compression) direct from digital intermediates as well as menu authoring for Disc 1 of the Blu-ray 2-disc set.
Edit: I found lots of other interesting info in the PR.
Quote:
Marvel at the wondrous 1080p detail of Davy Jones' slimy, barnacle-encrusted crew and tremble at the ground-shaking cannonade of ship to ship battles with 7.1 channels surround, 48 kHz, 24-bit uncompressed audio -- you'll swear you smell the gun powder and feel the salty sea-spray splash across your face!
I'm assuming thats wrong since later on it says:
Quote:
Blu-ray Disc Sound: 5.1 48 kHz, 24-bit uncompressed sound
(English)
5.1 Dolby Digital
(English, French, Spanish)
Blu-ray Disc Encoding: AVC
Blu-ray Disc Resolution: 1080p
Also it looks like Disney finally dropped name Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment presents "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" like you have never experienced it before on Disney DVD and stunning high-definition Blu-ray DiscŪ loaded with an armada of bonus materials.

This title is going to be huge on Blu-ray. I wouldn't be surprised to see it sell over 100,000 copies.

I think I'm one of the only people who didn't appreciate these movies at all. I found Jack annoying. The only saving grace for me was Kiera Knightley. There are several Blu Ray only releases out there that I'd like, but this isn't one of them.

Will be getting this. Haven't seen it yet. Plus, I have the first two movies, so I gotta finish off the trilogy.
