I was holding up on getting this because of the 4K-transfer-is-not-2D debate, but, are you sure you "wouldn't suggest this an improvement over the previous Blu-ray release"?

If that's the case, I might as well just grab this release, looks like it may be worth it.

I don't have a 3DTV yet, I'm looking forward a 3D projector, but I'm already building my 3D movie library, so, I'm not really in a hurry and I'd be stuck with the 2D version meanwhile.

What would your advice be?

Nice review, thanks!

Agreed on the audio track. Surprisingly good considering its age especially.

Since ghosting is a display issue and not a transfer problem, it would be good to know what display the reviewer uses for his reviews?

Thanks

Great review. Cant wait to revisit this flick again (been sometime since I have seen this).

Arturo Lugo: I think thats awesome your looking into getting a 3D projector. I bought mine the week of Thanksgiving last year and I absolutely love it. You wont be disappointed. Wont look at a tv the same again.

Saw this last weekend in 3D with my sister and her two kids, my second time seeing this film in theater.

The 3D was good and the film was still enjoyable after seeing it many times over 20 years. One of the best Book-to-Film movies ever made retaining the best elements of the book.

I recommend seeing this in 3D, well worth the ticket price!

The link to the Jurassic Park trilogy review takes me to some review editor and makes me log in. Might want to fix that

Other than that...This release only comes with the 3D version, right?

In each of our reviews, the author's name links you to a short bio, description of our equipment and a complete list of that writer's reviews. Such as . . .

In the Vital-Disc Stats, I mention this is a 3-disc combo pack with the same 2D Blu-ray from the boxset and a DVD copy.

I'm afraid this is NOT an improvement. It's the same picture quality and can't imagine it ever being any better than it is now. However, it being presented in 3D does add another level of enjoyment to the movie, so in that respect, you might consider it an improvement.

we have very little reason to be interested in them.
