I'm actually very excited about this. I read the book and did a report, including a movie comparison, when i was in sixth grade. Amityville 2 seriously traumatized me as a kid. I saw it before I saw the exorcist, so it was absolutely new and terrifying to me. I hope Amityville 3D is actually in 3D, even if it's just an anaglyph option.

I'm assuming the Amityville 3D will be in 3D blu. That would suck if it wasn't.

Glad to hear of this release. Look forward to the review.

Now...if only I can read some news of the sequel to Creature From The Black Lagoon being released for 3D Blu my Halloween this year will be just about perfect.

Canīt wait for these! The second movie scared me when I was a kid, and I still have a little hard time to watch it.

The possession scene is creepy, the arm in the wall is creepy, the 360 pan that ends on a close up of possessed Sonny's face is creepy, and the whole end sequence is creepy. This movie is scarier than the first.

I agree. I will also say that I was disappointed, as I became more familiar with the genre, to learn that all those things were blatant ripoffs of other, better movies like the Exorcist, Evil Dead, etc.

Still, since this was where I first saw all of it... Holy bejeezus did it ever traumatize 7th-grader me.

these 3 have an interesting evolution...

you have the first movie which is based on true events.

then there's the 2nd which is a prequel of sorts and a veeeeeeeery loose and exagerated account of the Defeo family.

and then Part 3 abandons reality and is just a straight up original horror story.

Amityville II is a guilty pleasure of mine. Mostly for the gorgeous Diane Franklin, and I love Rutanya Alda's (the mother) screams. The movie scared me as a kid, but now its pure camp fun.

I love when she turns on the faucet and the blood comes out. Her laugh is priceless.

As much as I love the Amytiville story, it's based on made-up story, not true event (it was debunked about a decade ago). But I'll still buy the entire trilogy.

Too bad they aren't going to sell the 3D version separately....
