Default More seamless branching coming from Sony, including Spider-Man 2

From paidgeek at AVS:

We are planning seamless branching for several titles including Spiderman 2. The feature works well and should bring a good response from consumers like those here that have requested it. It is a complex feature to implement, particularly in the case of CE3K where 3 versions are provided.
So, among other things, it looks like we'll be getting the "2.1" version of SM2 without double-dipping. Very cool!

Now if only we knew if Warner will do this with the Blade Runner set.

WOW! That does sound cool. I kept thinking about buying "2.1" but was afraid to since it might see a BD release. I'd pick it up for sure with seamless branching.

Same here. I had a hunch they would release 2.1 on bd. The wait should be almost over. The branching feature sounds cool.

Are we talking Blu-ray or SD DVD?

If we're talking about SD DVD, then The Number 23, which was just released this week, is a title with seamless branching -- both the rated and unrated versions of the film on one disc.
