I'm glad that any negative observations about the picture quality is due to it being such a unique source, instead of having picture quality anomalies due to digital fiddling and such done for the blu-ray release.

Well, no NEW extras, but at least all the shorts are HD.

i just watched this over the weekend and yes....the shorts are definitely remastered. they look so gorgeous, especially the 3rd one. they look better than the opening animated short from the movie itself. the colors are so nice and pop so much it looks like it was made today.

Hopefully they don't stick you with the DVD packaging. There's been some complaints that Amazon has been sending people the DVD packaging with the Blu-ray inside, rather than the Blu-ray packaging.

Yes THAT is a good thing. I'm glad this didn't mess up this 25th anniversary edition.

Default Personally I was disappointed with the packaging

I do agree that the movie looks pretty darn good for it's age on Blu-Ray considering the complicated aspects of bring such a unique film up to date. I think Disney went ultra-cheap on the packaging aspect for the film. The packaging is as bare bones as can be especially compared to the Vista Series DVD release from 2003.

An ultra cheap quality Blu-Ray case, the two discs screen printed as plainly as possible. There's not so much as single insert. I was truly surprised there was not even a Disney Movie Rewards code inside, perhaps a Digital Copy would have been nice as well. The slip cover is about the only physical extra to it.

I just think Disney could have done better, since they've done better packaging for titles hardly worth being released at all (such as their era of direct to video sequels getting released currently as Blu-Rays). It almost feels like they went bare minimum because the big names attached to the film (Zemeckis & Spielberg) are mostly associated with other studios.

In any case, I'm still grateful to see the film on Blu-Ray. It was fun to enjoy the movie again.
