I doubt they will include the Cantonese dub. Audio will probably be the same as the previous release.

I've seen the Cantonese dub, it appears no more accurate than the English, and it is just a dub, the bulk of the dialog is in English. Everything after the opening scene if I recall.

This is Warner Bros. It's probably the same old disc in a Digibook. Lossy audio, old video transfer with serious jaggie issues. Unless it's specifically announced to be a remaster, I wouldn't expect much from this.

The press release makes a specific note of the film being "re-mastered for its 40th anniversary".

However...

It also looks like the disc will drop most of the extras from the earlier disc(s). Which I hope isn't the case. I mean, a new transfer, and new extras, and lossless audio, is great and everything. But this 40th anniversary set isn't exactly "Ultimate" if it drops 3+ hours of documentary material, is it?

Perhaps I should have actually read the press release.

I'm pleased by the news of remastering, but I want it without the physical extras and inflated price.

It seems as though the previously release on BD received a 4 star rating for PQ, could a remaster of this movie possibly yield better results? Keeping in mind it was created in 1972 and wasn't it a relatively low budget production?
