I never seen that movie, so I guess I'll wait for this one.

I'm not ashamed to say it - looking forward to seeing it again MYSELF, no daughter involved.
I commented on another thread as I am sensitive on the subject - all that time spent on cover art and they cover it up with words (3d version.)

What's the betting they'll include the two sequels in it as well?

Or maybe they'll have a separate release bundling the sequels....

Wouldn't mind seeing Mermaid in a Viva case BTW

My g/f will be happy because we accidentally sold her DVD in the pile of movies we sold last summer.

Sadly it looks like the Viva cases are done with. The company that make Steelbook sued them for copyright infringements and won the battle. Reason why they don't have a Wreck-It Ralph case coming out, but might be going back to steelbooks.

Would love to see something collectable metal packaging for the release.

So what is the story on the 3D version? Will there be a 3D blu release or what? Keep reading conflicting rumors and such.

Wait, what? What does Steelbook cases and a lawsuit have to do with Disney using Steelbook cases?

@Dr Kain - Disney was using one of the Steelbook(TM) alternatives, Viva Cases. The Viva type has been shut down by the makers of Steelbooks. They won a court battle apparently. There is another metal case alternative, Iron Pack (I assume that has been shut down too? I haven't seen one in ages.).

Whether Disney just goes ahead and uses Steelbook in lieu of Viva/Ironpack remains to be seen. They probably had a reason for using the alternatives (Cheaper? Less distribution restrictions?).

Dang. But seriously, patenting 'metal DVD/BD/CD packaging' is being a bit broad isn't it? Is there a patent on plastic cases too then?
