Default 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' (1934) - High-Def Digest Review

David Krauss has reviewed 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' (1934). He says Hitchcock's first take on the material produced the superior film. This Criterion release is a winner. Highly recommended. Here's why...

I've never seen this, and recently watched the later made one, which I really like.

I really want to check this one out. Thanks for the review.

I picked this up on my lunch hour today at Barnes & Noble. It was on a (slight) sale, but I had a 20% of coupon I was itching to use. It came to about $27, which isn't bad for a Criterion.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I haven't seen either version of this film.

The latter is excellent, but I believe the former had better actors, IMO.

I'll pick this up during the next Amazon sale, hopefully at $17.99 (which they had the last few years close to Xmas). That's really the way to go with Criterion. Last year I stocked up with the B&N and Amazon sales (although I should have just waited for Amazon since they ended up being $2.00 cheaper) and so I'll have enough unwatched stuff to last me until the next sale.

Really anxious to watch this with the excellent commentary tracks, which are always a strong selling point with me.
