A reissue of the South Park movie? Rather have Team America finally hit blu.

hopefully with Warner covering the Paramount catalog, it may finally happen.

this raises one interesting question: will the next season of South Park come from WB?

All of these Paramount re-issues are part of a bigger distribution deal with Warner Bros.

WB begins managing some 600-odd titles from the Paramount catalog as of 1/1/2013. The deal is good for three years.

100 or so tent-pole titles--'Transformers' franchise, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', etc--are excluded from the deal, but I doubt very much Paramount considers 'Team America' a tent-pole. In fact, 'Team America' probably has a better chance of hitting blu now.

WB is getting the titles already authored out first. All-new discs will follow.

I'd assume not.

First, 'South Park' is distributed by Comedy Central, via Paramount Home Entertainment, not Paramount directly. Second, this deal is--to my understanding--exclusively about theatrical back catalog, and doesn't include television.

I remember during the HDDVD/Bluray wars there was a clip of Team America for HDDVD. If only that had happened I wouldn't care if I had a bluray of it right now.

Is there going to be anything extra with this? Or just a new cover or something, because I already have Stardust on blu-ray myself (though I don't recall actually watching the Blu-ray of it yet XD).

I don't imagine any of these discs will be different, besides the packaging and (lower) price-point.

Of course, I'd love to be wrong, as a few of Paramount's old discs are in desperate need of remastering/re-authoring for various reasons.

I've still got my LD of that South Park title and have never purchased it on DVD or Blu-ray, not yet anyway.
