Default 'Sister Act / Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven Cohen has reviewed 'Sister Act / Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.' He admits to nostalgic enjoyment of the first film, but he's no fan of the lazy and contrived follow-up. This Blu-ray features solid but underwhelming video and audio tracks. This is for fans.

Hey I'm a fan too.

I'm so glad Disney decided to finally release this one. Boy does this one bring back the memories.

Glad I bought it. Great transfer & sound.

Could not agree more with the review. If I had any writing talent I'd certainly have come up with something similar. Thanks for letting us know this gem is on blu.

Funny, I just watched part 1 maybe a week ago on HBO go and was pretty surprised how well it has held up. I could see picking this up for about $10. The second doesn't exist to me.

Funny, I have only ever seen the second one (numerous times, even, for we had it taped on Betamax). And I liked it! So knowing Uncle Nostalgia, I'll probably still like it. Sounds like I should definitely check out the (alleged) superior first one.

OK, I got it, and it's a good price for a double pack, even if the packaging was cheap (they stack the two DVDs).

I'm rather disappointed with the subtitling work though. They did NOT subtitle any of the songs. My hearing isn't the greatest (I can hear the music, but not make out most of the lyrics). Sometimes I had an idea as to what they were singing, but the rest of the time they could have been cursing and I wouldn't have known the difference.

Musicals and movies relying on music heavily (as is the case with this one) NEED to subtitle their music. It's just cheap to do otherwise.
