Default Shout Factory announce Scream Factory

Shout Factory have announced a dedicated Horror Genre label which will specialise on :iconbluraypng: releases within the genre. We have already seen Halloween 3: Season of the Witch get announced. Just check out the list of titles below for release this Autumn:

- Halloween 2
- Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
- The Island
- Death Valley
- They Live
- Phantasm 2
- Terror Train
- The Funhouse

Now we know why Arrow had to region lock their later :iconbluraypng:s of The Funhouse but I am looking forward to all the titles on that list that I do not already own. The Island in particular is a guilty pleasure - a bad movie that is really enjoyable. Michael Caine versus modern day pirates led by David Warner...

This is excellent. While I don't care about any of those titles (although I'd have to see which The Island they mean) I'm all in favor of more horror - and particularly catalog horror - getting released on Blu.

The 'Halloween' titles are a definite purchase, but also very excited for 'They Live,' 'Phantasm 2' and 'The Funhouse.'

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

I wonder how They Live will stack up against the Italian release, which only has DD 2.0.
