Default Best Buy "Upgrade and Save" Program Gives You $5 Off Blu-rays for DVD Trade-ins

It's not a massive discount, but if you're upgrading you could do a lot worse.

Hey Dick, I think there may be an error in the front page post at HDD. It's $ 5 off any Blu-Ray $9.99 and up, not $19 and up. The 'terms and conditions' page of the 'Upgrade and Save' program confirm the latter.

Having quite a few DVDs to get rid of (most of them having been upgraded to Blu already) that are worth 25 cents trade in value on Amazon, the upgrade and save program has been great for me. I can always find at least one movie that's on sale for $9.99 or $14.99 that ends up being a great deal after the trade in. This week I picked up five seasons of Supernatural for $14 each after trade in.

Can anyone find a list of what titles they accept? I'm not finding much out there.

There's no list, they accept all commercially produced non-"adult" titles.

Okay, here is where it gets complicated for me: I moved here from Germany and own "trillions" of legit DVDs that need upgrading - however they are RC2 and mostly with a German cover...I guess I just have to stop by my local BB and try. Will keep you updated.

Well, YMMV, the first time they ran the promotion they tried to tell me they couldn't accept Domino because it was rated R, making it an "adult" film, so it's going to be up to the customer service rep, but people have reported online that they've traded in movies from other regions. They aren't scanning UPCs or anything.
