Ugh, I have a Samsung 37'' LCD...which is 720p. I'm wondering how much I'm missing out on true HD at 1080p....

at 37", you're not really missing out on a whole lot.

consensus seems to be that you need to start breaking 50" to really notice 1080p.

I'm on a 720p wall projector displaying at the max 1080i w/ the ps3 1080p upscaler and am wondering the same thing...if I go to TRUEHD 1080p will I really see the difference in the larger image?

It depends on the screen size and the distance to the picture also. I have almost the same setup. 105" picture from a Panasonic PT-500AE (720p projector that handels 1080i signal) projector at a distance of about 3.5 meter. I think I could benefit from a 1080p projector. I'm going to buy one in less than one year I guess.

I am as well. I do think 720p even at 110" is quite good, as I've had no complaints thus far. I would like to see 1080p to see how it compares, but for now as far as projectors are concerned, 720p is the most affordable projector and offers me what I want for HD TV watching.

I have a 106'' screen and a 720p PJ and I agree with alot of what you guy's have said. I think it would be a much more noticable upgrade for people with projectors and screens over 50''.

IMO, you're definately not missing out and you're definately not alone watching 1080 HD content on a 720p tv.

hmm I've never heard of 1440p. and according to that diagram...you dont get the full effect of 720 and 1080p until the screen is 100''+? Or am I reading it wrong?

I watch Blu-ray on a 720p 50" from 6-feet away and it looks incredible.

You're reading it wrong. The vertical line is for seating distance and the horizontal line is for screen size. You get the full benefit of 720p on a 37" at about 6 feet, but you will start noticing the benefit at 10-feet.
