I can't remember much of this movie... however, I think it may have been the first movie I ever saw at the cinema... one of my earliest movie memories is some talking sludge oozing out of something.

Might get this. Pity the video quality isn't higher, but it's not exactly a priority release so it is to be expected I guess.

Going to review any other older animated movies soon?

Like what?

I have Don Bluth's 'Thumbelina' ready to review very soon.

I can't stand Thumbelina. Even as a kid I despised it. It got better...as it went. Those opening songs made me want to murder people.

I'm not a big fan of Ferngully. I, honestly, don't like the animation.

Any game that features paid loot boxes should be rated AO.

glad to see the reviewer mention the cover because daaaamn....that's just terrible upon crappy. the original poster was pretty good. i don't get this trend of making new lame covers for video. whats the point of creating posters if the image will just disappear when the movie hits home video? sadly this is a trend thats been around since VHS but cases like this just call for more whining. :P because yeah, this cover totally makes it look like some lame, cheaply produced DTV kids thing.

Not the worst cover I've seen to a Don Bluth movie.... at least you can tell it's the right movie, since the title is actually correct, let alone the picture.

Great review, Aaron! Ferngully was a childhood favourite of mine as well. I saw it multiple times, on VHS (of course). In Dutch, by the way. I'm quite curious to hear the original English voices. I'm quite surprised this stars Robin Williams, because it was released in the same year as "Aladdin". That one made a big deal about Williams voicing a character (even breaking promises made with the star), whereas "Fern Gully" doesn't really hype his involvement.

By the way, I had to chuckle with your mention of a "eco-friendly keepcase". Yeah, well, imagine if it wasn't!

Nice job, Aaron. Way better moderation of nostalgia than Luke's Hook review.

I like this movie too, and will have to get it when the price drops a tad.

I'm pretty sure the reason why this thing got virtually no controversy back in '92 was due to the fact that it bombed at the box office. It only grossed 32m worldwide, 24 of those millions were in the US alone.
