Default Blockbuster Will Close 500 Stores in the First Half of 2012

Thatís an even third of the existing brick-and-mortar locations.

The store closest to me is finally closing. A shame but in this age of cheap rentals and streaming, it's not a shocker that B&M's cannot compete. Actually, I am surprised that store lasted as long as it did, what, with 9 Redbox kiosks within 2 miles of me. On the bright side, will have to see if there are any bargains to be had at the store closing.

Yeah two stores around me have had closing signs up for a couple of weeks now. Shame.

Again? Will they make up their mind already? Either reopen them or close them, but don't keep switching.

Both of the stores close to me are closed now. There is one more store that's within a reasonable driving distance. With my luck, that store is probably among those 500 closing.

Thats going to suck if they close the one next to my restaurant, as it brings a lot of people to the shopping center Im located in. Im going to have to talk to them.

Even here in Italy is Blockbuster closing, but the prices in wich they pretend to sell everything is still more expensive than buying in Amazon.
