Default 'Notorious' - High-Def Digest Review

David Krauss has reviewed 'Notorious.' He says this ranks as one of Alfred Hitchcock's finest films, and with good reason. This Blu-ray is a worthy upgrade for fans. The film has never looked or sounded better on home video. Extras are bountiful. This is highly recommended and a must own for fans.

David, excellent review (per usual). 'Notorious' is my favorite* Hitchcock film.

*Aside from, of course, 'North by Northwest' and 'Rear Window'. And 'Strangers on a Train'. And 'Lifeboat'. And...

Suppose I've never seen a Hitchcock film - what will this one be like for me, as opposed to someone who already worships the guy?

It's a pretty good gauge, actually. It's textbook Hitchcock. Some might say--certainly, at least, visually--that it's the definition of "Hitchcockian".

It's an awesome movie, you SHOULD like it LOL

I'm hearing the video transfer is rather disappointing. I think I'm gonna watch it this week.

Boston, I had heard the same thing about the transfer, but was pleasantly surprised. Better than 'Spellbound,' for sure. Much better, IMO. Have not yet seen 'Rebecca' (I'm not reviewing that one, darn it!).
