Default Bootleg/Fake Blurays

Has anyone heard of counterfeit BR's specifically Criterion BR being made? Reason I am asking is I know there were fake DVD's being sold on ebay back in the day. This past week I bought a new sealed copy of The Man Who Fell to Earth since the criterion version is out of print on ebay.

There is nothing overly suspicious about the cover/disk that makes me think it might be but it didnt have the blue sticker on the plastic wrapping ive seen on most blurays so thats why is popped into my mind. Is there anything to look for to determine if a BR or Criterion BR is legit?

there are some bootlegs out there, like the battle royale 1+2 set available in some asian countries.

when titles get expensive, that's when bootleggers step in, and man who fell to earth AND third man criterions go for over 100 bucks on average now.

it would be REALLY hard to fake the original digipak packaging, but the regular version, available for a very short time, would be easy to fake. repro books have been made before, as well. check the bottom of the disc. is it a BD50? does it look normal compared to your other criterion discs? is the art just a C?

find professional or high quality pictures of the release and compare. if the disc has numbers (not a barcode) on the bottom, see if they match up.

Could just be a re-seal. Compare to any other sealed ones you may have.
