Looks like quite a few extras [on the surface] with this release but once thought out, not much. I don't see any comments such as "fully restored" or anything so is it a money grab?

We know that companies always time their releases just right to maximize their sales. So, this will be timed for the theatrical rerelease of the James Cameron version and the inevitable Bluray release. If they wait too long they would have to compete with sales of Cameron's megahit.

They're all "cashing in" on the actual event - the RMS Titanic sank 100 years ago on April 15. This 1953 version is very good, but I prefer the 1958 A Night to Remember, which Criterion is bringing to Blu-ray on March 27 in the US and ITV is releasing it in the UK on Blu-ray 19 March.

And that's the one I will definitely buy. I read the book too.

That should be RMS Titanic.... not being picky just FYI.

Love the line in this movie
"Let's not bicker since there's no love lost between us."
"That's the tragic part. There has been so much love lost between us."

Good catch. RMS - Royal Mail Ship, a designation for privately owned ships carrying mail under contract with the British Royal Mail service. HMS - His/Her Majesty's Ship, a designation for ships in the British Royal Navy.
