Default 'Harry Potter Years 1-5' -- pre-release buzz

Though exact street date is still TBA, I'm opening a thread for the new 'Harry Potter Years 1-5' Blu-ray box set Warner is brewing for the holiday season:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...ay,_HD_DVD/777

Needless to say, this will be one huge high-def release! Can't wait for specs and features to be announced...

Yeah I was hoping they'd all be sold separtely so I could take my time buying em. But they've done the same thing they did with The Matrix.

But hey, at least all of these movies are good

I really hope that the films can be displayed separately... I don't want to buy a set of 5 and then 2 more later. I want them all to look the same. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I agree with those who want them to be released individually. I'll be picking up #5 regardless, but I'd like to see the reviews for #1-4 before I pick them up. Hopefully, the PQ will be top notch like Matrix!!

informal consensus of the import of harry potter on HD DVD seems to be that it's pretty good. presumably we'd get the same transfer on BD.

of course, if warner's shedding more semblance of neutrality, they could screw us by putting a lesser transfer out on BD. that would be truly asstastic.

I imagine that'd be the case. And I'm still getting 10% off all my Blu-ray orders there, so another ten bucks or so will help quite a bit.

I really WOULD NOT buy this, what happens when the final movie is out? The only way to get it will probably be by buying a $200 boxset with all 7 movies. Seriously, I really wouldn't buy this just yet.
