Finished watching the UK Import. First and foremost, am fortunate enough to have a TV (Kuro 5020) and a BD player (BDP 51FD) that are able to play these discs in their native 1080/50i resolution. Secondly, no more exaggerated sound effects that really sounded out of place in Life, all sounds pretty natural here in Frozen Planet utilizing a very good DTS-HD MA track. Simply put, another fascinating nature doc from BBC &Sir David Attenborough, absolutely magnificent, enjoyed it a lot.

I'm really, really glad to hear this. The sound effects in 'Life' were beyond annoying after a while. Can't wait for my review copy to come. Sadly, we have to wait another month for our release.

I think it was your review for Life where I first remember reading about those overamped sound effects. Was spot on to say the least. There were so many opportunities in Frozen Planet where they could've gone crazy with the sound effects again but thankfully did not, maybe that one sound guy got fired or something?
