David Krauss has reviewed 'A Christmas Carol (1951): 60th Anniversary Diamond Edition.' He say this double dip is a big improvement over the 2009 edition. Read his review to find out why this one comes highly recommended.

I have this new Blu-ray edition and I am very happy about it. The bonus stuff looks really neat. I think I might also get the old Blu-ray edtion for the 'pop-up trivia track'. I have the 2 disc dvd and I dont' think it has the trivia track, but I will check. Has anyone watched that trivia track? What is it like? Thanks.

Awe man, how much better is it? I mean, I just bought the other edition last year. Is it really worth it?
EDIT: Wait, I'm confused. Is this an import? I ask because Amazon only has it available from sellers and not from them. |

My existing blu-ray of this title is perfectly fine. I've purchased this movie enough times already, thank you (VHS, Laser Disc, DVD & BD).

Also have you watched that trivia track on your Blu-ray edition. I am a big fan of trivia tracks so I might purchase the old Blu-ray edition for that trivia track. It looks like it's on sale for $10 here at VCI Entertainment. http://vcientertainment.com/christma...ray-p-775.html |

Watched this a couple weeks ago. I'm in my Christmas Carol run until Christmas. Watched Disney's 25 minute adaptation last night, George C. Scott's the night prior.
This movie looks pretty damn good for it's age. |

It should be noted that the 5.1 track is missing 8 seconds of dialogue and 1:21:21-1:21:29 is exactly where the dead spot occurs. Though overall the 5.1 track is much improved from the last bluray that was actually a 4.1 mix with no center channel and dialogue coming out of the rear speakers when the actors were directly in front of the screen. Oddly enough the dvd that came with the older release had a perfect 5.1 mix so the bluray was botched. The 5.1 mix really opens up the soundstage on the new release and is perfect except for the dead spot. Multiple people have confirmed the same issue at bluray.com so I am assuming all discs have the flaw and were pressed with a slip in quality control.
