Default [Replacement discs are ready!] Defective audio on Criterion's Three Colors: White

Edit: Problem has been confirmed with Criterion, see my reply below.
Edit 2: Replacement discs are ready, I received the following e-mail today:

Hello and Happy New Year,

Good news! We are glad to report we've received the corrected WHITE
disc. We will be exchanging the Blu-ray discs directly from our New
York office. Please send your WHITE disc, disc only please, to my
attention at the address below. With the disc, please include your
email address and postal address. Please do not include any
packaging with your disc. When we receive your disc, we will send you
the corrected copy and a $10 gift certificate to Criterion.com! Thank
you for your patience while we were sorting out this audio
issue! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank
you for supporting Criterion!

So I got this set in the mail yesterday and I'm concerned there may be a defect with the audio on "White." It wasn't clear until I got the set that the audio is 2.0 surround, not stereo. Meaning it is meant to be played with pro-logic turned on to create the surround mix from two channels. (It says to turn on pro-logic in the liner notes). Blue and Red definitely sound like proper surround mixes, but on White I am only hearing one channel. I put my ear right up against my other speakers and couldn't hear a peep. That would happen if the two audio channels are identical, which would be an error with the disc.

shhhh......criterion doesn't ever make mistakes! that right there is a ban-worthy offense some places (you know, the ones where screener discs magically appear in another country before they do sites in THIS one...AHEM).

have not touched white yet, so i am not certain. i'll be sure to keep an EAR out for it.

I e-mailed criterion about my audio question and it turns out I was correct about there being a problem and they will be sending replacement discs. I got the following reply.
