Default Platinum?

It looks like this is just an HD upgrade of the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 1" with some extra bonus features. Great cartoons but might not be worth the money if you already own the dvd set.

Warner Bros cartoons in HD is reason enough to upgrade if you have a projection system.

I'll have to get this when the price drops a bit. Looney Tunes are still a great watch after all these years.

As much as I'd like to get this I'm really fucking sore the audio isn't Lossless. I don't believe it was even storage concerns but pure laziness on Warner's part.
The stupidity of that is if Warner made this PCM as Lossless they wouldn't have to pay Dolby royalty fees so this would likely be cheaper to produce.
Add the fact that for Mono most, if not all, stereo cabling can output it because the bandwidth is quite low.

Dolby does not charge licensing fees for the use of its codecs on DVD or Blu-ray.

As a matter of principle, I agree with your argument that Warner should have included uncompressed or lossless audio on these discs. However, the reality of the matter is that it's extremely unlikely that a lossless track would make any audible difference on a soundtrack like this.
