Default 'Looney Tunes Showcase: Volume One' is coming January 10, 2012

Note that this seems to be just a repackage of the platinum collection's first disc.

The 'showcase' in the title worries me that it will be a 'best of' BD, price is not bad though.

The ones in November are of the 'Platinum Collection' line.

Showcase or not, there better not be duplicates between the collections. With such a rich treasure trove to mine from, and a span of only a couple months between these first two, it shouldn't be that difficult for WB to put unique cartoons on each of them.

I'm definitely picking up the "Platinum Collection," though curious to see what will be included in this set.

Here's me wishing I held on to my laserdisc set though, I remember a handful of them were banned and the LDs reissued without them, they might offend those Japs, etc...y'know.

The manipulating of these classic animations(Disney's Fantasia, for ex) REALLY REALLY pisses me off.

It's similar to what Lucas has done with this movies.

They should put BOTH the original and the censored one, if even that much at all.

This is just the first disc of the Platinum Collection apparently.

Ah, okay. Good to know and thanks also for updating the disc details.

Why the need to part out the set, create another SKU and create confusion, I don't get. Clearly, the "Platinum Collection" is the better value between the two, with the third disc of bonus content and digibook. Glad I don't have to choose (or worst case, get both).

I could not agree with you more. I was relieved when I read this morning it was not a 'best of' collection.
