Default 'Thor' BD Issues?

Bought Thor the other day... 2D version, not 3D... we had a couple issues with it and I was wondering if anyone else did?

1) when we first put the disk in, the PS3 gave a message that the disk was incompatible. Pull the disk out and putting it back in got it to load.

2) about half way through the movie, it started pausing and skipping to the next scene several times.

Quick trip to BB and heading home now to see if the new disk works... BTW, there were no visible scratches.

EDIT: Grr, 2nd disc, same problem... "This video cannot be played (80029940)"... looks like an OS update was needed? DL'ing right now. Crossing fingers.

EDIT 2: after PS3 update, same error code. Popped it out and back in, working so far... skipping to where we where and bam, same pause, skip to next scene problem. Hmmm... read online that is could be the drive going bad, yet other BDs seem to work, no problems, will have to watch other movies this weekend to see what's up. BTW... starts pause/skip stuff at the bar scene.

did you try the same advice offered for playing X-M:FC? Delete data file and disable network connection?

thread here.

sorry to hear the disc won't work, but knock-on-wood, no issues here.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

Tried that, but still no dice... a lot of pausing and skipping. At least it also had the DVD so we could finish the movie.

Is it a FOX title? Seems every time a new batch of titles come out they update DRM crap.
Otherwise yeah, like eNoize says

Paramount, the same studio who gave us 'Gladiator'.
Remember, from the Sapphire Series, which is supposed to have the very best quality video picture?
...The first released version? With that video abomination?

Yup, Paramount.

confirmed I have the exact same problem with the 2D Thor BD. Tried 2 different Thor BD's. Both of them stutter and skip to the next chapter starting right after chapter 4. I tried wiping both discs down, deleting BD files, turning off internet, etc.... Still skips. Occasionally I get a disc read error (9940 or something like that)

It seems paramount doesn't want to play nice with sony right now.

using ps3 slim latest FW 4.21
