Default 'Thor 3D' - High-Def Digest Review

Nate has just compared the 3D release to the 2D Blu-ray. Does the added dimension justify the greater expense? Read his review to find out...

Hmmm. May have to skip the 3D edition on this one. Not the first negative review I have read about Thor 3D. Shame that the 3D on this one is not up to par with other good 3D releases.

I liked the Earth stuff in the movie....but the Asgard stuff was little too cartoony for me (especially his stupid friends). And I hated the ending. Also, the love story was rushed and and too two dimensional

That confirms it. Have a 3D tv, but gonna pass on this one based on HDD's review. You know the 3D version is subpar when even that other site gave the pq a mediocre rating.

I ended up picking the 3D version up. Was going to get the movie anyways, and my 3D collection is not that outstanding.

Uh...so then you hated the film, because that pretty much describes the ENTIRE movie!

i'd make a really mean comment about them, but i'll restrain. i mean, pimping ain't easy, so whoring surely...oh, wait, i said i'd be nice. dangit.

considering the lack of live action 3D content, it's a shame this one looks so damn dreary. THIS is the title 3DTV owners want. live action ACTION. ADVENTURE. not animation after animation after animation. that gets tedious.

i suppose one way to look at it is 23 bucks for 2D, 30 bucks for 3D, so that's just 7 dollars for a 3D title, but damn.

I saw this in 3D at the press screening I went to. Most of the movie I sat there with the glasses on top of my head. It looked bad in 3D.

more than a few scenes you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

i kept my glasses on for the jotunheim sequences (well, the entire film, but you know...), which were the biggest mess, but wonder how it would look with them off. it's a lose-lose, for sure, but curious.

If movies look bad in 3D at the theatre, does it basically guarantee they'll look lousy at home too? I saw Thor in 3D when it came out (there was no other option supplied by my local multipex), and most of the movie was so damn dark once I put the glasses on. I wasn't even able to see what was going on a lot of the time. Based on the HDD review, I take that the issue has transferred to the home video release.
