Default 'Trainspotting' - High-Def Digest Review

Steven Cohen has reviewed 'Trainspotting.' He says this popular film hits Blu-ray with faithful if unimpressive video, solid sound, and a number of extras. Recommended.

Anyone know if this is the same transfer as the Alliance Canada one? Or how it compares?

Wondering if it's safe to buy the CDN version since I see it everywhere for $8-10.

I'd say go for it (for the price): it is 1080p and has 5.1 DTS-HD MA.

But it has ZERO Special Features though.

* That's the version I own myself (and besides, I also have the Exclusive Director's Cut 2-Disc Set on DVD; and the first DVD release way back then (non-anamorphic I believe)).

This Blu-ray from the USA, at only $9.99 is also a great deal for our brothers South of the border.
Even better because it includes some Special Features, including a commentary audio track, plus a Digital Copy (for those people...).

They're different transfers. The Lionsgate disc is better.

How does it compare to the Japanese import? Any ideas?

From the review.

Dialogue is clean and full (though the cast's Scottish accents can still be difficult to make out).

Unless you are Scottish.
