I have to wait a while for the sake of the budget, but I want this. Bad.

Such an amazing piece of film. Citizen Kane has never stopped of amazing me. I think most people look at this film in the wrong way and is not their fault, they are just badly introduced to it. Many friends know this film because of it's "Best Film of All Time"-status and I can't conceive a worst way to set expectations. I will not argue against that nor in favor, Kane is a masterpiece plain and simple. It is just that when you enter a film with that kind of hype people tend to get dissapointed because it is, in fact, and old film. It IS revolutionary, but many of the trends Kane established back in the 40s are now used commonly. I would like everyone to see this one for the first time for what it is, an amazing film.

The fat one is Welles, right?

Then what are the chances this edition goes out of print? I can easily wait on this, hoping the price drops.

Citizen Kane is one of my top 3 films (along with Blade Runner and Akira), so of course I'll snatch this up -- and finally own all 3 of those movies on blu

The sheer creativity in every scene is inspiring, and Welles' huge personality certainly comes through in the character of C.F. Kane. I love the "stump speech" scene, which brings chills every time--the dialogue, the camera work, the set design. That scene embodies just about everything I enjoy in film.

I actually was introduced to this movie by knowing it was AFI's #1, and I didn't hold that against the movie. There are other "top" movies I don't enjoy very much (such as GWTW and The Graduate), so I don't really let rankings affect my own opinion. But to me, Citizen Kane is an overwhelming triumph deserving of the accolades.
