Default 'The Man Who Would Be King' - High-Def Digest Review

Our review of John Huston's 'The Man Who Would Be King' has just been posted. El Bicho says this is an excellent film for armchair adventurers. This Blu-ray features excellent video, weaker audio, and disappointing extras. Highly recommended for the film itself.

Was thinking of a blind buy, but for mono on audio, no special features means I'm paying basically for the digibook package. Pass until reissue in standard case.

Positive review for a top film.

It was indeed recorded with a mono soundtrack.

Does anyone know if this is region free? No sign yet of a UK release.

I think all of Warner's titles are region free.

HD DVDs and Laserdiscs were all region free, yet sadly neither won their format wars.

I've had this film in all its other formats (VHS, LD, DVD), and saw it theatrically on its release; so it is a favorite. However, I will wait for a better price. Not worried about the audio. It is what it is.
