When Soldier was first released it was widely panned. When I eventually saw it on tv I found it to be a pretty good time waster.

Red Planet on the otherhand was awful, Val Kilmer at his worst.

I may get Soldier. I hated the film when it came out, hell, I even saw it at a private screening way back in the day and it was still awful when came out.

I might pick up Soldier, as I don't have that one on DVD.

I'd be interested should Red Planet be the R rated cut. Reshoots and last min editing brought about a PG-13. As it stands it's a mediocre film in need of balls.

I always thought Soldier was under rated. Assuming Warner doesn't ruin the transfer somehow, I'll definitely pick it up. Solid sci-fi action movie, elevated of course by Kurt Russell who just adds coolness to every movie he does.

I actually liked both of these. Hopefully they'll get decent transfers.

Ditto, and good to see some movement on more catalog titles. Keep it up studios!

I actually liked both of these movies.

Red Planet was definitely better than Mission to Mars which came out the same year. Even though Mission had Gary Sinise in it.

But, Soldier is the superior film in this duo... I enjoyed this movie a lot when it came out, don't understand why it was so panned upon release.

I'll probably pick up both for about $10 each, unless they have good bonus features.
