I used to have the HD DVD version of this movie, so I'll add this to my Blu-Ray collection, for the right price.

For all the flaws this movie has, plot and casting wise, I still enjoy watching this movie just from a visual standpoint. The version of the afterlife, presented in this movie, is far more intereting than what "The Lovely Bones" had to offer.

Paid $3 for the HD-DVD. Now it commands a premium, I believe.

The DVD was just awful. EE everywhere and any sort of fine detail just looked like mush. I'll be getting this one.

I heard the movie's all beauty but sucks but the book is supposed to be phenomenal, which I don't doubt since it's Richard Matheson. Think I might start reading that tomorrow.

This is partially true. The movie is MOSTLY beautiful to look at...but it doesn't completely suck by any stretch of the imagination. There is no doubt in my mind that it obviously isn't as good as the book...and the movie is flawed...but it is still solid entertainment.

Wait, its available on HD-DVD? Heading to Amazon now!

edit: Nevermind, I will wait for the Blu-Ray. There is NO reason this day and age that a used HD-DVD should run $35, and $40 for it new!

Do you have to point this out in every thread?

Great. We all understand you paid $3 for a movie on a dead format. Congrats! Good for you.

Did Cheez get all his HD-DVDs from me? I sold all mine for $2-$3 years over a year ago...

Yeah, I have to point it out. Why wouldn't I? Does it make sense for people to buy a $20 film on a currently existing format when you can or could have just bought it for pennies on the dollar? Of course it doesn't make sense, but people, for whatever reason, want a more "uniformed" collection which is a cop out to some OCD issues. People should have kept their hardware and scooped up some $3 movies. Don't blame me for that.
